I’m not sure how I feel about banning… but I do understand that cigarette smoke makes people uncomfortable and that many prefer to stay away because of the health risks. I’d like to see governments stop supporting the tobacco industry - they make money from the industry, which is like condoning smoking. Bans seem… sort of like a way to make a majority happy, not healthy. If the government cared about health they’d stop condoning smoking (while pretending they aren’t!) for the 16% who are still addicted. And as an ex-smoker, I know that addiction. It’s insidious. I fucking love smoking a cigarette now and then, but I stopped because I felt my personal health was failing. That was a key factor in stopping smoking full time! Not the bans in public spaces. Not at all.
