That’s interesting, I support marriage equality because of the way our society is (sexist, homophobic) and how we got here (denying rights to people who aren’t straight, white, rich men).
Remember when the franchise was only extended to land-owners and women couldn’t own property? Remember when Aboriginal Australians were classed not as citizens but as animals on the census? Remember when we excluded all but the Anglo-Irish with our immigration policies?
