Don’t let your new doctor bully you into taking something you don’t want to. It’s your body, your health, and your life. Do your research and inform yourself about you and your situation. Stick up for yourself & your health! Find support groups.

Unless you actually have insulin resistance there is no reason to take Metformin. Even then you still don’t have to if you hate the side effects. Tell Dr to bog off. :P It’s certainly not going to do anything for your cholesterol!

Thank you all! I feel a lot better about asserting myself now (and also because I was chatting to people on twitter too). I’m going to switch GPs to Nick’s doctor, who is actually my doctor’s brother in the same practice!
