That’s a huntsman spider. It is like… the worst spider in the whole fucking world. If it gets on you, and you get scared and shake it off, it has this reflex that MAKES IT HANG ONTO YOUR CLOTHES TIGHTER.

Things I have learnt today
• I will resew sleeves three times before my determined nature succumbs to feelings of anger.
• I am terrible at drafting sleeves that let me move my arms.
• I am great at drafting sleeves for penguins.
• Sewing my own clothes is not an efficient or easy solution to being too poor and fat to buy clothes in stores.
• I would feel better about this dress if I could reach for things in it, and take it off without assistance.
• Good grief The Bachelor is a toxic, fucked up series.

After wearing the doona dress for half an hour...
I had to take it off. The sleeves render it unwearable :( I couldn’t even reach forward to type comfortably, and doing my hair was impossible!
I’ll probably split the sleeve down the centre and make flutter sleeves or something (even though I HATE flutter sleeves) but I will be making the bottom of the sleeve pattern wider for future sleeve adventures because I have a feeling the instructions I was following when drafting the sleeve didn’t allow any ease.
At any rate, it was an experimental dress and I learnt a lot of things! Even if I have to remove the sleeves completely it’ll still be wearable, and if I’m feeling extra motivated I might try out the redrafted sleeve… that is if all the seam ripping I’ve done to the armscythe hasn’t destroyed the fabric!!
