I’ve been sick in bed all day and after watching the latest episode of Huge I decided it’d be rad to hold a non-weight loss fat camp in Australia.
So Nick and I have been researching venues and discussing whether or not we can actually pull a camp/ conference style event off. It’s scary, and I’ve never attempted anything like this before but I may as well give it a go.
I would love to be part of organising this, Natalie. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about something similar but was constantly let down by thinking that I don’t have many Australian followers. do you? how much access do you have to spreading the word to people who would be interested?

Awesome! It’s so great to have your support. I am fortunate to have a big bunch of Aussie FA-interested followers on tumblr, twitter and my blog and I’ll definitely be canvassing all of these platforms for interest and support. I’m speaking at the Fat Studies Conference in Sydney early next month and my plan is to discuss the camp, venues and possible sponsors with any rad folks who want to have a chat with me. One Gold Coast venue we’ve researched today looks fantastic but requires at least six months lead time at the time of booking. I suspect this will be pretty standard. So we’ve got a bit of time, and even if the camp takes place late summer/ early autumn the weather will be great. The height of summer isn’t very nice up here anyway!
I’ll be putting up some kind of survey to gather numbers of interested attendees and other feedback in the next month I predict, so stay tuned!
