Everyone likes food yeah? I might use tumblr for food stuff too. It’s weird having a main blog and a smaller off-blog blog that actually has more followers than the main blog! I post about the Big Things on definatalie.com and here’s it’s mostly whimsy and minutia. So I feel a bit confused about what I should post where. For now I’ll add food to minutia and post about it here!
This is what I made last night for dinner: Quorn schnitzel, some Continental pasta side dish arrangement and salad with berry and lemon pudding for dessert. I don’t usually eat a lot of packet food but sometimes I really can’t be bothered making everything from scratch! Preparing meals takes time away from doing other fun stuff (like drawing) even though I’m liking cooking more and more. Anyway, the weird thing about this dinner was the schnitzel - it’s not got any soy or typical meat analogue, it’s made with this stuff called mycoprotein which is apparently “a nutritious member of the fungi family”. You can buy Quorn mince too, I usually just use TVP!
I’m a big fan of pudding and decided to make this berry pudding with a lemon self sauce at the last minute, sending Nick off to buy some berries just before the shops shut! It was bastardised from a lemon self saucing pudding, I simply replaced the lemon zest with a handful of frozen berries. Easy. Tasty. Success! Berry puddings are apparently summer food but I don’t understand that. Puddings with a sauce are warm and comforting, good for winter in my opinionation.
