If you fall between the ages of 18 and 35 (and if you could give a range as to where you fall on that spectrum) what, in your opinion, are the major cultural touchstones (e.g. the Kennedy Assassination) that you think define our generation/whatever you want to call it?
(please reply or reblog with your answer—answering isn’t working!!!)
I’m Australian and turning 30 in a few months. My touchstones are:
Halley’s Comet; Michael Jackson; Madonna; EXPO 88; Berlin Wall coming down; Gulf War; Kurt Cobain’s death; River Phoenix’s death; CDs replacing vinyl; Mobile phones and texting (late 90s in Australia); Bob Hawke/ Paul Keating leadership tussle; Mabo; Sorry (How John Howard wouldn’t say it and Kevin Rudd did); INTERNET; Monica Lewinsky; George Bush; riot grrls; Princess Di’s death; 9/11; Tsunami; Katrina; Barack Obama and SPILLARD!
