Hi, my sister & I had a discussion about your captions today when I showed her your blog. She was kinda taken back by your "pale skinned" descriptive, I showed her the accessibility section-whilst she gets that, she felt like you were encouraging (without meaning to) something that we see in our culture often (middle eastern, but also asian, indian, african etc) of beautifying paleness. She thought it would be more apt for you to list your ethnicity. I have mixed feelings. Do you have an opinion

I totally see how problematic “pale skinned” can be as a description and I would love love love to have some feedback on how I can better describe people. I have felt weird about it but I don’t know what else to write, and the problem with using ethnicity is that I don’t really know what ethnicity most people are and I don’t want to fuck it up.

I am a white Australian and freely admit my ignorance when it comes to these things. I would love to hear what other POC think about this issue of image descriptions and skin tone/ ethnicity.
