I was incredibly thirsty, to the point where I would just forego cups and hold my mouth under the tap. In the beginning I just thought that water wasn’t quenching my thirst so I’d drink those sports drinks but because they are full of sugar it’d just get worse. I remembered something about Stacey drinking lots of water at one point, but because I was 17 at the time and hadn’t read that particular book for nearly a decade all I had to go on were my memories of her symptoms. I peed so much too, ugh.
I didn’t have that issue of BSC at the time to reference, but my mum had a copy of Every Woman so I smuggled it into my room (weird that I felt I had to smuggle it!) and read it from the beginning until I came to a part about diabetes. Then I was like, “oh shit, I guess I’m going to have to go to the doctor… I AM GOING TO BE STACEY.”
