My privilege.

My mother-in-law has a Budai figure, or laughing Buddha, in the kitchen and I saw its belly and contented nature then hung a fat necklace around its neck. I took a photo.Then I hung six necklaces around its neck and took another photo.

Now I look at the photos and wonder if this is offensive and appropriative. I am not Buddhist and only know of Bodai what I’ve gleaned from practitioners and the internet.
