I have been overwhelmed with enquiries about people who want to pay me to draw a portrait of them. So I’m thinking about offering custom digital illustrations as a product on my Fancy Lady Industries shop, so I can control the amount of work I do at any time. Even though I said I didn’t want to do commissions, I just hate disappointing anyone and to be honest, I need to see if I can start working again to bring in income.
If I do offer custom digital illustrations, it would be a system where i only allow limited “stock” at a time, and people prepay for their portraits. That way I can make sure I don’t get too overwhelmed. I would deliver each portrait within a set timeframe so it’s not an open ended thing and every prepaid commission will be delivered!
I will still work on portraits of people who’ve submitted their photos, and like I originally said I might not be able to do everyone.
It’s something I’m still figuring out in my head, at any rate.
