I think it’s awesome to have a community in which everyone can love themselves and everyone can be the best. I like the idea of creating a model of self-love that involves validating the awesome in each other genuinely, and not with a tinge of bitterness. I think sometimes when we elevate people we do it artificially by making “being like ____” something to attain when really we need to work on being more like ourselves. I feel like when that happens, when we put others on a pedestal, we’re often really quick to point out when they make a misstep or look less than perfect because we want to be convinced they’re at our level—rather than realizing we’re actually already on the same level as they are and it’s okay to go ahead and think that we too are really fucking awesome. There’s no reason to tear anyone else down to feel better.

Okay, I’m stoned and I’m remembering GIRL LOVE AND FEMINISM days and also rambling.

Tasha says good stuff and is rad.
