It’s actually really absurdly nice to know that I could make it to 30 and still have acne and it wouldn’t be the end of the world, and this is probably so earnest that it’s bordering on sarcastic, but I actually really really mean it. I started seeing dermatologists when I was 10 for acne. It’s not as bad now as it was before 4 rounds of accutane between the ages of 12 and 18, but I also have a lot of scarring, and it gets cystic after a couple of days of not using salicylic acid wash. It wouldn’t bug me as much if the cystic pimples didn’t hurt.
Anyway, I just find it really heartening that you’re so “IDGAF” about it. Like if I have horrible painful zits my whole life, at least I’ll be in damn good company. <3
I haven’t tried (ro)accutane, but it has been recommended to me SO many times by doctors, dermatologists and beauticians. I just felt like the depression risk was too much because I’ve already got it and well, the last few months have been bad enough. I don’t know what your experience was, but did it help at all? Were there any other side effects for you?
