About how some people are ‘big enough.’ ‘Big enough’ to ‘take it,’ ‘big enough’ to be ‘valid targets,’ ‘big enough’ that we have an obligation to ‘call them out.’ ‘Big enough’ for daring to speak, for having opinions, ‘big enough’ just for existing and not shutting up.
We, yes, the noble ‘social justice’ community, always righteous, most especially when we are piling on someone we all love to hate especially when someone else casts the first stone. We, yes, the noble ‘social justice’ community that does so love to cut people down, to make them as small as possible, to shred them to pieces for not performing to our precise and ever-shifting satisfaction.
Let me tell you something: When you are on the bottom of that ever-increasing pileon and everything you could possibly do is wrong, you feel pretty fucking not-big. In fact, you feel very, very small.
THIS.
It also pisses me off when people shit all over someone and tell them to be the “bigger person”. Don’t retaliate, don’t say anything, just be quiet and be the “bigger person”.
Fuck that.
