Hey Natalie, have you seen the comments here (http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/snippets/issue16/gala_darling )? I found them to be interesting, if not illuminating. I have a long-standing fascination slash love slash hate of Gala Darling that began when I stumbled on her blog years ago. On some level, I admire and am curious about her "brand" of blogging, and on the other I've been irritated by how... flippant and fluffy her content is, and I've had comments where I've questioned/criticized some of her wording or whatever be deleted. Whatever little trickles of vulnerability she lets out make me not outright hate her, so I hope she comes across some of this neative press and takes accountability for herself. I cannot see what I'm typing right now so I hope I haven't made too many typos..

Next: I don't understand how you can push body/fat/shape acceptance, but when other people with basically the same goal join you, follow your blog, and say hello you have to create a disclaimer saying, "I'm not affiliated or in agreement with this person's body/fat/skinny/shape acceptance movement, only my own." What the eff is the point of that? The girl FuckYeahSkinnyChicks sounds like she is promoting acceptance of her body type because that is what hits closest to home, exactly like you promote fat acceptance because that is your reality. You sound like because she is promoting anything other than fat and obese body types that her acceptance isn't worth anything. Why not just say, "Cool, awesome. Someday hopefully we can have acceptance of EVERYONE, everywhere." instead of being a bit of a bitch?

Yep, I saw the Cut Out and Keep post, and I think I have a similar fascination with GD. I agree that much of the time her blogging is not challenged, and when it is it is deleted or avoided or dog piled by her yes-people.

I don’t think hating her or anyone helps. Challenging and questioning is not hating, and I think it’s way more productive!
