“When I was like sixteen, I was a total chick I had big hair. I was seen as this attractive girl, and I would get all this attention. And then I just cut off my hair, and I quit playing that game.”

A funny thing happened to me when I chopped off all my hair…I felt like a woman for the first time in my life. Like sexy and beautiful and desireable as fuck. So I don’t believe for a minute long hair makes you more “feminine” as a woman. I still personally feel this way and miss my short hair, but I’m committed to growing it long to donate it to Angel Hair For Kids. I urge everyone to do the same…if you want to. Hair grows back :)

I was talking to my hair this morning, like “come on, just grow out already (my hair grows slow so this has been a year-long process so far and it’s just now past my shoulders) so I can donate you!”

(via missworld)

I cut off my hair when I left high school and just before I did it I was talking to my Mum about doing it as she picked me up from a “date” I had with some guy who took me to Indooroopilly shopping centre (I’m cracking up remembering this!)

She said “I bet (the guy I’d just seen) likes you with longer hair.” And it made me want to cut off my hair even more because he was a jerk but moreover the length of my hair shouldn’t be dictated by other people, nor should someone be attracted to me just because I have long hair.

I started growing my hair longer a few years ago because I was experimenting with performing femininity, it was a very conscious thing. And then I gave myself an undercut. Hair is fun.
