Yes! And the same goes for coworkers who call me “baby.”An ironic, apologetic feminism has replaced riot grrrl’s rage. From where I stand, the ’90s girl-culture revival seems to be more about blogging about clips from Clueless, not Bikini Kill videos. Whatever, fine: I like hot girls in shorts too, and I fucking love Clueless, but I’m also wondering when girls are going to get mad again, because it’s useful, and fun, and feminist, and not because it’s cute.
OK, here’s some feminist rage: Can we stop referring to women in articles “girls”? Unless they’re, like, actually 11 years old.
UM I HAVE RAGE!
I really hate how the author is dismissing different expressions of anger and frustration. Also erasing a whole bunch of it because you don’t have access to it (there is a BUNCH of shit on the internet, reading a few blogs doesn’t clue you in to all the wonderful discussions going on) is uncool.
