I GOT MENDACITY DETECTION
Which may sound like the dorkiest super power ever, but there was this book I read when I was a teenager (well, a younger teenager) where there was a guy who had this power. In Dutch they called it “Truth reading”, I think; in the book it also meant you could see through illusions (created by other superpowers/magic stuff) and also read through written lies. Anyway, I loved the character, and I loved the power as well.
(Also, and this is a thing that just got into my mind as I am writing this post and has nothing to do with this reblog train, but whatever: There are posts, on blogs, that I have read, where queer people write that they used to “queer” characters in their childhoods: where there were no actual queer characters in media (books, movies, TV shows) to relate to, they read queer subtext into one of the characters. And until now I wasn’t really able to relate: I couldn’t think of any straight character (or character without a specified sexuality, and thus by heteronormativity straight) that I had queered, but this guy, yes, definitely, definitely read him as queer.)
Levitation! That’s fairly cool.
I got the air manipulation one. Not as cool as telekinesis, but pretty awesome.
Regeneration! This is pretty much my favourite super power so I’m happy. If I could regenerate I wouldn’t be diabetic. Aw yeah.
