This is brilliant.  I’ve never trusted the expression ‘real women have curves’, and this is exactly why.  As much as all that ‘sister’ bullshit makes me cringe, I do think it’s worrying that people make a habit of making themselves feel better by putting down the appearance of others, whether that person is fleshier than they are or less so.

Oh, I agree with this SO hard. ‘real’ women don’t have any particular defining characteristics, thankyouverymuch.

Yeah, y’all know I am all about this, except the fucking last panel. I don’t really believe that people who say “real women have curves” have even dipped more than a toe into fat activism, and would rarely use a phrase like “fatphobic”. Usually if you’re still caught up in using “curves” in place of “fat” (as opposed to actually meaning curves) then you’re a little fatphobic yourself.

No word of a lie, I actually got into a SEVERE argument for saying “we’re all in this together”. I get that fat women are subject to discrimination that thinner women haven’t experienced, I AM FAT AND I HAVE EXPERIENCED THAT. But all women’s bodies are policed and that was the point I was making.
