And I don’t just mean abortion and that sort of thing. I mean things like breast implants, tattoos, piercings, hair colour, etc. I don’t understand why someone would even care. If someone wants to have their boobs done or get a flesh tunnel, how does that effect you in any way? You can say that this person’s decision is because of the media or socialisation or whatever, but unless you actually know this person (rather than have some vague idea that you do through their blog), you really have no idea what you’re talking about. You’re just talking out of your ass.
So to everyone who is interested in any form of body modification: if you know why you’re doing this, that’s all that matters. I say do what makes you happy. Fuck the haters.
Years ago I read a great piece about “bad” tattoos and why it’s none of anyone’s goddamn business why/ if people get them. Since reading it I’ve definitely been much more questioning of WHY on earth I care so much about what other people do with their bodies. It’s not like it affects my life!
